salsaSalsa Levels

It is important that you attend workshops at the suitable level, please read below to understand the different level of workshops being run.

Beginner

Little or no experience in Salsa Dance. This level begins with the basic footwork patterns moving onto basic turn patterns and transition sequences. Partners are not mandatory.

Intermediate

Participants will have previous Intermediate Salsa Dance Instruction. You should be able to assimilate and demonstrate new moves/patterns and techniques. You should have a sound knowledge of rhythm, timing, body movement and good partnering techniques.

dancingAdvanced

Participants must have had extensive Salsa dance experience in the style that is being taught at this level. You should be able to assimilate and demonstrate new moves/patterns and techniques with ease. You should have an excellent knowledge of rhythm, timing, body movement and partnering techniques. Partners are recommended at this level but not required.

Note: Instructors teaching workshops at the Advanced level have been advised to teach to the higher level of the class, not to the lowest, intermediate dancers will get left behind.

Workshop doors will close 10 minutes into the class – if you have chosen the wrong level, you can change to a new class during the first 10 minutes.
